How it was built.

Design started in October 2022. Students from Electrical Engineering and Robotics did all the design and construction in about a year, including the chassis and the battery. The carbon parts were made at UTCN in an autoclave, with guidance from Prof. Paul Bere.

EV3 was the first Solis vehicle with a carbon monocoque, replacing EV2's steel tube frame. It uses the same motor as EV2, inside the rear wheel. There was no time to ship it by sea, so it was flown out and reached Darwin in the last hours allowed for scrutineering.
